Aubrey SagetWe are pleased to announce the first group exhibition of the NYU Department of Art and Art Professions Senior Honors Studio Class.

This exhibition serves more as a live broadcast from the studio than an endpoint. These works exist as a portrait of each artist’s present state of investigation, process, and philosophy.
We feel extremely fortunate to be working with this group of students. They are as diverse as they are engaged with their work and each other. In projecting their beliefs through their work and challenging of each other’s ideological positions, they demonstrate the notion that art is about ideas and a meaningful engagement with the world in which we live.

The distinctive process and point of view of each participant, along with their willingness to immerse themselves in a place of vulnerability and exploration has informed the nature of this exhibition. We offer this exhibition to you as a point of entry into our continuing dialogue as a group.
A series of solo projects by the artists in this exhibition will be presented in the Commons Gallery in Spring 2009. We encourage you to view and read more about all of the artists at http://seniorhonorsstudioclass.blogspot.com/
